It’s pride month and this year Trans Pride takes us back to our queer roots as a reminder that pride has not always been a celebration but in fact a protest for liberation!. This Saturday, June 26th 2021, Trans Pride is happening and will be a peaceful march starting at Wellington Arch at 2pm to commemorate the beautiful trans people we have sadly lost, to celebrate our iconic community and uphold the next generation of trans revolutionaries.
With a dress code of ‘wear florals’ is to commemorate and represent, the pioneers, activists, and trans family that are no longer with us, the day is to make a community-led stand against the long wait times for healthcare resources the transgender community and making a stand against anti-trans legislation. There will also be a mass amount of trans joy too!
The march will also be a celebration of trans excellence, championing and uplifting all BIPOC trans people, trans women, trans sex workers, disabled trans people, poor trans people, and trans kids, who have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With an incredible and inspirational lineup of speakers, Trans Pride is an educational and empowering day and will be a fantastic opportunity to listen to voices of the community around you and join together in solidarity with the trans community. Wear a mask unless you’re exempt!
The march itself is raising fund via the London Trans+ Pride Gofundme page to cover the costs of PPE, Hi-Vis, and Food and water to ensure it is as safe as possible and you can support here: GOFUNDME
