Late Night Energy – the lost tapes

Doors 7pm, show 8pm

Tickets: £7/£10

“In 2001 Richard Energy was commissioned by the BBC to film a late night talk show. Due to ‘artistic differences’ the tapes never saw the light of day… until now.”

An immersive drag show set in 2001 where the audience are invited to join the live studio audience at the recording of a late night talk show. Hosted by king of comedy Richard Energy (“Quick, witty improv and a charismatic swagger’ – The Stage), this late night show includes performances from the best of the London drag scene, as well as hilarious interviews, games, and sketches all underscored with original music by the in-house band that takes the form of self professed ‘soft boi raver’ Duncan Disorderly.

“This is a live recording, so anything can happen! Even when the cameras stop rolling!”

This months Guests:
PMBC
Winner of LipSync 1000 (2021). They are a glorious worshiper of gender-f*ckery… They are the epitome of trash bag glam and god forbid you try to put them in a box… Totally unpredictable, disgustingly thrilling and subversively erotic, we give you the chaotic charms of PMBC.”

Shardeazy Afrodesiak
AKA The Big Deazy a.k.a. Big D – the gender bending drag ting.

Dosa Cat
Dosa Cat has been training in Kathak for a number of years now and has taken it beyond the traditional realms. They  hope to explore this topic with reference to performers and the gender representation through form in their PhD this upcoming academic year. Through the many characters on stage, Dosa Cat has taken their training and applied it to Cabaret performance and Drag Artistry and hopes to continue to integrate both sides of his cultural heritage within their performance.

& your in-house DJ: Duncan Disorderly

Lyrical obliterator – all round vibe assassinator – party boi heartthrob DUNCAN DISORDERLY. You’re favourite underground drag king DJ performing a live electronic set or original songs and club bangers.

“Late Night Energy- The lost tapes”  is created by Richard Energy:
Fresh off the Death Drop tour and the West End with drag panto Dick Whittington, Richard Energy is the king of comedy, the host with the most, famous for his catchphrase: ‘That’s absolutely nice’ – (we’re working on it)

So put down your M & S dine-in for-2’s, don your sequins and strap in for a night of hilarity and full-frontal vulgarity.

The Bleeding Obvious

8pm

Tickets £8

The Bleeding Obvious has one single member: Yorkshire lass Jessica Rowbottom, whose multi-genre songs are sometimes funny, occasionally poignant, frequently emotional, and invariably involve her experiences on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Now she’s back with new songs and stories for a 2022 Spring Tour, because obviously – life is never quite as straight as it seems.

The Bleeding Obvious has performed to a packed off-West End theatre at Pride In London and a sold-out show at Cadogan Hall London with The Pink Singers, not to mention shows at London LGBT+ Pride Picnic, L Fest Lesbian Festival, Trans Pride Brighton, Sheffield Diversity Festival, Norwich Arts Centre, plus more Prides and LGBTQ+ cabaret venues than you can shake a sequined stick at.

Her performances have drawn comparisons with Victoria Wood, Tim Minchin, The Divine Comedy and Fascinating Aïda, and it’s most likely the only show with the lyrics “demisexual panromantic polyamorous androgyne”.

“An LGBT+ driven musical trinket box” – Get In Her Ears
“The queer Victoria Wood” – Yorkshire Evening Post
“Controversial, with a bit of fun added in” – Trans Radio UK
“An exploration into musical and lyrical diversity” – The Queerness
