An Off-Broadway gem is returning to London this Autumn and it looks set to be a fabulous!
On the universally recognised Clary-Carr scale of campness, the latest production of Buyer & Cellar coming to London in September scores exceedingly high (somewhere above Billy Porter but beneath those little Babycham glasses).
Why so? Well, there’s the plot for starters. Jonathan Tolins’ script tells the tale of an out-of-work actor who finds himself working beneath Barbra Streisand’s Malibu home in her legendary basement shopping mall.
If that’s not enough, there’s the choice of the leading actor. In the original Off-Broadway run, the part was played by Michael Urie (him off of Ugly Betty), but this time around, the role will be taken on by Rob Madge (them off of the award-winning show My Son’s A Queer (But What Can Do You?))
