Ten of the Best LGBTQ+ Cabaret Events: February 2024

Our very own cabaret aficionado Jason Reid peruses the upcoming cabaret events every month so you don’t have to, and picks his cream of the crop for Gay London Life.

February can be a real drudge with its cold weather and nothingness, but fear not because there’s a wealth of cabaret events in the capital to look forward to. Here’s my pick of the crop…

Kinky Kabaret at Freedom Soho

Every Monday, from 10pm

If you want to see west end artists perform in an intimate setting and away from the script of the theatre, plus many other fantastic artists, then this is the night for you. Hosted by Carl Mulllaney.

Spin The Wheel at Little Ku

Every Tuesday, from 7pm

A laid-back evening with Soho queen Candy Heals who is on hand to ensure that everyone has a great time and gets acquainted with one another. Spin Candy’s polychromatic wheel to win prizes including free drinks, shots, goodies from Prowler Soho, and more. A fun, free, no-nonsense night out that will perk up your Tuesday no end.

Drag Royale at Zodiac Bar 

Every Friday, from 7pm

Drag cabaret stars take to the stage of this fabulous independent and trans-run venue which is situated just a stones throw away from Warren Street tube station (practically central London). You can expect to be entertained by the likes of Chanel N°5, Candy Heals, Topsie Redfern, Billie Gold, Tiana Biscuit, and more. A fun night out. Free entry before 9pm.

Friday Night Drag Entertainment at Ye Olde Rose and Crown

Every Friday, from 9pm

Top entertainment to round off the week in style from fabulous drag and cabaret artists. Expect a night of singing and joking and good cheer – all in a dedicated LGBTQ+ venue where hospitality and warmth shines through. Even if you don’t live in gorgeous Greenwich, Rose & Crown drag nights are worth jumping on a DLR for!

Double Drag Friday Night Party at Two Brewers

Friday 2nd, from 7pm

This is a real drag treat! Moria Less — Pride’s Got Talent finalist in 2023 — brings sensational vocals and sharp repartee mixed with a commanding stage presence, and seasoned drag superstar Drag With No Name offers up clever, punchy parodies and oodles of infectious energy which is perfect for the start of the weekend. Free entry before 9pm, £8 after. Post-cabaret it’s DJ Demon till close at 4am!

Miles Elliot at The Old Ship

Saturday 3rd, from. 9.30pm

One of the best things about cabaret, is that it spans such a wide range of artistic expression and live performance. Miles Elliott is a fantastic vocal performer who skilfully works an audience into a happy frenzy with his charming personality and stunning voice  — his shows are full of soul, jazz, R&B, pop and other genres, and are always a joyous affair. Free entry all night.

Men and Other Problems at The Divine 

Thursday 8th, from 7.30pm

A brand new musical comedy cabaret set in the sun-kissed paradise of Costa Colónica at London’s newest LGBTQ+ venue; written and produced by and starring, Drag Idol Winner Felix Le Freak. Don’t we all need escapism in February which is such a milquetoast month.

Alice in Wonderland – Adult Panto Returns at Clapham Grand

Wednesday 21st, from 7pm

A panto… in February? OH YES IT IS! An adult take on the well known story of Alice In Wonderland. Starring Drag Race UK’s Victoria Scone, Banksie and Kate Butch, as well as Bailey J Mills, Sophia Stardust and Lucy Fernandes. This promises to be a night of camp, filthy and outrageous fun. Just what’s needed right now!

Drag Idol 2024 Launch Party 

Thursday 22nd, from 9pm

The talent competition that launched the careers of Danny Beard, Crystal D’Canter, Kelly Mild, La Voix, and more, returns for another year. This launch party is hosted by by Son Of a Tutu—another Drag Idol winner—and features performances from LoUis CYfer, Karla Bear, Blue Romantic Martha D’Arthur, Amaya Napa, Jade Justine, Gladys Duffy, and Tiny Gentleman. Free entry before 9pm.

BOiBOX- History at Phoenix Arts Club

Sunday 25th, from 7.30pm

Creator and host of BOiBOX, the brilliant Adam All and a bevy of talented and creative kings take an opportunity to look back at the history of drag kings. Guaranteed to be wildly entertaining as well as informative. And the Phoenix Arts Club is an absolutely divine venue, so win win all round.
