Recon London at Fire: get your gear back out for 9 October
Summer’s done, the shorts are packed away, and that harness has been sitting in the drawer giving you looks. Good news: Recon London is back at Fire in Vauxhall on Friday 9 October. It’s a well-timed autumn fix for anyone who can’t hold out until the end-of-year party.
Recon has been part of the gay fetish world for years, and its big London parties are where that online community comes out in person. This one’s back on home turf in South London. The team are bringing back some favourite features from past editions and adding a few new ones.
What’s going on inside
Fire is a big venue, and Recon is using all of it. There’s a pop and house room for when you’d rather dance than do anything else, plus multiple bars so you’re not queuing all night. The Dice listing names Darkwah on the line-up.
For the main business there are dedicated play areas, a maze and an FF space. The listing also mentions BDSM, slings, pups, watersports and plenty more, which is about as clear a mission statement as you’ll get. An outdoor smoking area gives you somewhere to cool off and chat.
The second-hand gear shop is a nice addition. Fetish gear isn’t cheap, and a pre-loved piece of leather or rubber is a good way to grow your kit without spending a fortune.
The dress code is broad: leather, rubber, sports, uniform, skins, punks, hi-viz and more. Recon even says that if suit and tie is your fetish, they’d love to see it too. The one firm rule, in their words: “Naked is NOT gear! No street wear!” So the jeans and trainers stay at home.
If you want to treat yourself, VIP tickets get you a separate queue and entrance, plus access to the VIP lounge with its own hosts, DJ and bar. You also get a changing area, a free coat check and free champagne while it lasts.
Before you go
Recon London is a men-only night, and the organisers are clear about who that includes: “We welcome all male-identifying gay, bi, queer, curious and trans men into kink and fetish.” They’ve also said that any racial, sexual or gender identity discrimination won’t be tolerated.
Bring physical photo ID. A photo of your ID on your phone won’t be accepted, so don’t get caught out at the door. It’s strictly 18+, and last entry is 3am, so don’t leave it too late.
Sort your ticket, plan the outfit, and plan your next outing in the GLL Events Diary while you’re at it.
Recon London runs Friday 9 October 2026 at Fire, 39 Parry Street, South Lambeth Road, London SW8 1RT (nearest Tube: Vauxhall). Doors 10pm to 4am, last entry 3am. General tickets £25, VIP £50 (booking fee applies). Men only, 18+, physical photo ID required. Book at Recon London tickets.
