Get ready to raise a glass, sing a song, and celebrate community spirit as Queer Open Mic marks its third fabulous anniversary at the legendary Cock Tavern in Kennington this Sunday!
Hosted by the ever-charismatic Josh Leuner (frontman of Josh & The Jumpstarts) alongside co-host and co-founder Sean O’Callaghan (Fat Gay Vegan), this very special edition promises an evening of live performances, authentic queer voices, party favours, birthday cake and raffle prizes.
Reflecting on the milestone, Josh shared: “As a queer musician, I longed for a space where I could perform to a supportive audience. Sean and I wanted to create an inclusive environment where LGBTQIA+ artists could express themselves freely — whether bold, flamboyant, vulnerable or raw. It’s about giving our community a stage to be seen and celebrated.”
Since its launch in 2022, Queer Open Mic has blossomed into a much-loved monthly event, lighting up the final Sunday of each month at The Cock Tavern. It has quickly become a cornerstone of south London’s queer nightlife, offering a safe, supportive, and joy-filled platform for LGBTQ+ performers of every stripe.
While stage time is reserved for LGBTQ+ artists, everyone is welcome to come along, soak up the atmosphere, and cheer on the performers. Expect an evening brimming with creativity, connection, and unapologetic queer joy.
