Queer on the Pier 2022: Grab your early bird tickets NOW!

People all across the UK reported the strangest thing happening last week — the sky turned a beautiful shade of blue, the clouds parted and the sun shone. Moods were lifted, beer gardens were opened and outer layers were prematurely discarded.

If you’re anything like us, this turn of events got you over-excited at the prospect of the upcoming summer months, and now is a great time to start planning parties and days out. At Gay London Life, we’re naturally biased towards events happening inside the M25, but there’s no harm in voyaging beyond this every once in a while, especially for something like Queer on the Pier.

Taking place on Hastings’ pier down on the South Coast, the day party returns for its third iteration on Saturday 30th July and if previous events are anything to go by, you can be sure of an alfresco disco plus a shedload of drag and cabaret talent. The sandy beach is just next door so there’s nothing to stop you from stripping down to your Speedos and going for a refreshing dip at some point, too. Best of all? It’s just an hour and a half’s train journey from London Bridge – or three tinned gin and tonics if you prefer to measure it that way.

The full line-up is still hush-hush at the moment, but there are early bird tickets still available from £18 that are sure to disappear pretty quickly once more names are announced, so we recommend snapping some up pronto.
