On Saturday, Surrey’s new LGBTQ+ venue, Pride Hub, celebrated its grand opening!
Located on Egham High Street, Pride Hub is a welcoming spot where queer folks can meet, socialise, and access information about LGBTQ+ services in the county and beyond. The venue will also host a variety of social groups, workshops, and music events to highlight queer talent and history and provide a space for people to connect and share knowledge.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony featured Cllr Elaine Gill, the Mayor of Runnymede, alongside 80s pop singer Hazell Dean. Pride Hub is a proudly independent, volunteer-led space, powered by community passion.
Charlie Watts, Pride Hub’s Director, shared, “We’re so excited to see people coming in and enjoying the space. The Pride Hub team has been working hard to create a place where all queer people feel welcome and included, and we can’t wait to team up with the local community for a full lineup of events!”
Pride Hub is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a variety of coffees, teas, cold drinks, and sweet treats, along with a unique selection of LGBTQ+ gifts and books.
