We pick ten of the Best LGBTQ+ Cabaret Events: November 2022

Our very own cabaret aficionado Jason Reid peruses the upcoming cabaret events every month so you don’t have to, and picks his cream of the crop for Gay London Life.

Here we are in November, friends, and the weather is most certainly on the turn as my dear Irish mother always says. So while it takes that extra bit of effort to prize oneself from the sofa, you’ll be certainly glad you did for these cracking cabaret events…

Play Your Cards Right with Miss Penny at Halfway to Heaven

Every Wednesday, from 8.30pm

Join the outrageous and very funny Miss Penny for a night of singalongs and giveaways. If this doesn’t get you over the hump of the week, I don’t know what will. What I love about Halfway, as well being incredibly warm, is how centrally located it is. The venue is within staggering distance of several tube stations, and I should know because I’ve done that stagger on many occasions. Miss Penny is a pro through and through and this is midweek cabaret at its best.

Each event includes upwards of half a dozen artists, which makes Bar Wotever exceptional value for money. Programmed by Lysander Dove who does a brilliant job of keeping the lineups varied and inclusive.

Drag Live! @ The Glory

Wednesday 2nd, 8pm

After years of searching for the best lip-sync and king talent, The Glory switches it up briefly for this one-off spectacular hosted by Grace Shush. Six live artists will perform for industry judges, and a chance to walk away with £300 in cold hard cash (that would really come in handy in this economy, right?), plus paid gigs at the National Theatre River Stage and other Glory events.
