This May, Margo Marshall is living the stream, and she wants you to join in with her rockstar fantasy
WORDS: Very soon, East London’s epicentre of drag-based mayhem, The Glory, will be throwing open its doors once again. May 17th to be exact, for all those fans of date-keeping. However, on the Saturday beforehand, there’s going to be one digital blowout that’s not to be missed in the shape of Red Chipped Nails.
Pulling the strings is Margo Marshall, the snake-hipped queen who is close to ousting Martine McCutcheon as the most iconic owner of those alliterative initials (Matthew McConaughey, stop messaging us please). She has pulled together an all-star cast for a livestream extravaganza that will celebrate the underground queer scene in all its glittery decadence. Jonny Woo will be there. Crystal off of Drag Race will be there. Eurovision star Uma Nite will be putting in a shift. A band of live musicians will be doing their thing. It looks set to be an unclassifiable mish-mash of music, performance and general tinkering around with the boundaries of gender, and all you have to do is log in, perhaps turn a lewk, and enjoy the show.
In a year that has been sorely missing this kind of joyful celebration of nightlife in all its guises, Margo Marshall will be bringing some much-needed musical chaos to your screen.
