Some shows don’t need reinventing, they just need the right people to bring them back to life. Liberace & Liza: A Tribute is exactly that. Big vocals, bigger piano moments, and a knowing wink running through the whole thing.
At the centre of it are David Saffert and Jillian Snow, who’ve spent years honing their takes on Liberace and Liza Minnelli. This isn’t a quick impersonation and a couple of jazz hands, it’s a full-bodied tribute that leans into everything we love about them, the glamour, the chaos, the emotion, and just enough mischief to keep it interesting.
The pairing feels obvious once you see it. Liberace’s flamboyant, over-the-top piano brilliance alongside Liza’s raw, magnetic presence. Together, it turns into something playful and slightly unpredictable, in the best way. There’s real chemistry here too, not overly polished, just alive and kicking.
Snow doesn’t just sing Liza’s songs, she throws herself into them. That signature intensity is all there, the kind that pulls you in whether you planned to be invested or not. And Saffert is clearly having the time of his life. Flashy, charming, and completely in on the joke.
It’s the kind of night that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t apologise for it. High camp, a bit chaotic, and genuinely entertaining from start to finish.
