Vault 139 – The Neon NYE Party

We know there’s more to going out than copping off and getting lucky, but at the same time… it’s pretty good, right? If you want an event happening at New Year’s Eve at which most people there will have that ravenous look in their eyes — you know the one — make a beeline for Vault139. This long-running cruise joint throws a good party and this time around, there’s a neon theme, so dig out at that fluorescent harness and jockstrap set from under your bed. Expect irresistible beats from the resident DJ and all sorts of fumbling in the dark corners. It’s even open regular hours the next day if you’ve still got an appetite.

Sunday 31st December, 7pm-3am, Vault139, 139-143 Whitfield Street, W1T 5EN. Nearest Station: Warren Street

The Old Ship – New Years Party

You don’t have to do anything overly spectacular for New Year’s Eve if you don’t want to. There’s one every year, for gawd’s sake. If you want something low-key and reliable, we can’t think of a better option than heading down to The Old Ship’s NYE bash. The friendly pub will be packed full of friendly faces, DJ Jermaine will be spinning solid-gold hits and we wouldn’t be surprised if there was a drag queen or two up on stage. Grab a ticket from behind the bar next time you’re in.

Sunday 31st December, 9.30pm-late,The Old Ship, 17 Barnes Street, E14 7NW. Nearest Station: Limehouse

KU BAR. 30 Lisle St, London. WC2H 7BA. Nearest Tube Leicester Square.

The Cock Tavern New Years Party

At the time of writing, tickets for The Cock Tavern’s NYE bash were running perilously low. We can see why seeing as they included pizza, a coupla drinks and a buzzin’ dance floor until 3am. If these have all gone by the time you finally get around to looking, that’s tough luck. However, don’t let that stop you from popping down at some other point in the festive period as there’ll still be plenty of dancing and merriment. If you really want to replicate the New Year spirit, you can kiss whoever’s next to you at the stroke of midnight and get a little weepy afterwards — this doesn’t really play as well any other night of the year, though.

340 Kennington Road, SE11 4LD, Nearest Station: Kennington

The City of Quebec – NYE Extravaganza

Well, well, well, it looks like the booking agent at the City of Quebec has been
a busy little bee. The venue’s NYE Extravaganza features a grand total of
ten performers, plus the stunning Violetta J’Adore, Tania LeCoq (pictured) and Anna Toni on hosting duties. Those performers? They’re — deep breath — Fox Smoulder, Ophelia Love, Coco Licious, Dulce Kraving, Scorpio, Synchro, Lala Dangereuse — getting a little light-headed here — Civortia, Sylvian Lockwood and Amber Rose Turner. Before we pass out, we should probably let you know that it’s free entry, too.

Sunday 31st December, 10pm-late, City of Quebec, 12 Old Quebec Street, W1H 7AF Nearest Station: Marble Arch

Freedom’s GLOW New Years Party

Glow Party If you like to have a dress code
for the final few hours of the year, Freedom Bar in Soho is putting on a

Glow Party. This isn’t in memory of the prematurely cancelled Netflix wrestling series — although feel free to wear a singlet if you so wish — but think neon and big, bright colours instead. There’ll be giveaways of glow sticks, face paints and bracelets so everyone can get in on the glow-up, plus the trademark mix of cocktails, live entertainment and DJs playing until the early morning that everyone knows and loves about Freedom Bar.

Sunday 31st December, 7pm-5am, Freedom Bar, 66 Wardour Street, W1F 0TA. Nearest Station: Piccadilly Circus

The Lord Clyde – New Years Bash

The Lord Clyde down in Deptford hosts its fair share of kinky events for London’s dirty and depraved, be they pups, foot-worshippers and cigar-toting leather daddies. Unless you’ve got a fetish for popping bottles and counting down from ten in unison, the New Year’s Bash will be one of the tamer dates in the cruise joint’s calendar. Obviously, there’s sure to be a bit of action happening in the play areas, but there’ll also be a free flute of bubbly, dancing to classics and a costume competition with a £50 prize (the theme is festive, let your imaginations run wild).

Sunday 31st December, 6pm-late,
The Lord Clyde, 9 Wotton Road, SE8 5TQ. Nearest Station: Deptford

Pleasuredrome – New Years Eve

As we never tire of saying, Pleasuredrome is open all day, every day. That means New Year’s Eve too, of course. Are you thinking what we’re thinking? You can tell everyone at work two days later that you saw in the New Year while basking in the bubbles of a hot tub in a Central London spa. You don’t need to go into any other specifics, such as, say, the extended midnight kiss you enjoyed with four other men in the steam room — that’s your little secret.

124 Cornwall Road, SE1 8XE. Nearest Station: Waterloo

Eagle London – New Year Big Bang

They’re the mysterious and hardworking faces behind some of Eagle London’s best club nights — Paul Joseph spins non-stop pop bops at Athena and 80:20, while Martyn Fitzgerald’s remit is jackin’ house tunes at Handsome. Together, they’ll be manning the decks for New Year’s Eve and having you glued to the dancefloor, even as your pals beckon you to go into the smoking area and look at the city’s fireworks. No can do, this Madonna edit won’t dance to itself babes!

Sunday 31st December, 9pm-3am, Eagle London, 349 Kennington Lane, SE11 5QY Nearest Station: Vauxhall

Beefmince’s Big Dong

You’ve all been to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, so you’ll know it’s hardly Wembley Arena when it comes to space. That’s why you should nab a ticket for Beefmince’s Big Dong lickety-split, otherwise, you face disappointment and a night in with Jools Holland. This annual NYE blowout brings all the bears and burly blokes to the yard, all drawn by the meaty dancefloor cuts from resident DJs Silverhook and Cactushead. To see in 2024, they’re going to be joined by RVT royalty Simon Le Vans and none other than Lola Lasagne on the mic.

Sunday 31st December, 9pm-4am, Royal Vauxhall Tavern, 372 Kennington Lane, SE11 5HY. Nearest Station: Vauxhall

Wishing you a happy, safe and wonderful New Year from all the team at Gay London Life.
