Our very own cabaret aficionado Jason Reid peruses the upcoming cabaret events every month so you don’t have to, and picks his cream of the crop for Gay London Life. April sees London’s LGBTQ+ cabaret scene bustling with myriad shows to suit all tastes, Easter dragstravaganzas, and the return of a much-loved and critically acclaimed cabaret duo. All Star Tuesdays at Halfway to Heaven

Every Tuesday, from 8pm

There’s always a camp drag show to be had at Halfway, even on Tuesdays which is traditionally a quiet night on the cabaret scene! The added bonus is that entry is free at all times, and throughout April there’ll be singalongs and smut courtesy of Mary Golds, Tanya Hyde and Sandra.

Myra DuBois’ Work In Progress ft. Frank Lavender at Two Brewers

Sunday 3rd, 3.30pm

The siren of South Yorkshire, star of every screen imaginable — most recently seen gallivanting around The Alps — Myra DuBois will be furnishing the Brewers’ with her illuminating presence and devilish sharp wit, supported by her old pal Frank Lavender. A rare opportunity to see them both together at this exclusive work in progress show! A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

“Pleasure Seekers’. Bourgeous & Maurice

Bourgeois & Maurice: Pleasure Seekers at Soho Theatre

Tuesday 5th – Saturday 30th, 7.30pm

It’s so good to see this award-winning duo back. As well as writing all their own inspired musical numbers, Bourgeois & Maurice have a real knack for tapping into the zeitgeist and ripping it a new one. A truly formidable act. If you’ve never seen them before, live a little and pop your B&M cherry this time round.

Crystal Lubrikunt Live at The Glory

Tuesday 5th, from 8pm

One of the best lip-sync artists and hosts around, the always dazzling Crystal Lubrikunt serves up a cheeky evening of comedy, cabaret and live music, with special guests Jordan Bradley and James Rogers. A proper weeknight treat at the East London mecca of queer cabaret and art!

Herr Me & You presents Glee: The Complete Drag Version at Royal Vauxhall Tavern

Wednesday 6th, from 7pm

Hosted by superstar drag duo Me and Herr, this will be a dream night out for any queer Gleek. Don’t stop believing, you can join the draggy glee club! But do book ASAP because this one will sell out fast. Starring Len Blanco, Nawel, Mark Anthony, Nat Funni, Indy Nile and Dulce Kraving. This is just what the world needs now. High camp skits and renditions of Glee faves all night long!

Slice and Dice: Vol 1 at Karaoke Hole

Wednesday 6th, from 7.30pm

A trans surgery fundraising show starring i-Gemini, Clay Taurus, Jada Love, Monsieur Cookie, Purrsia Kitt, Lori Mae, Luspinda and Romeo De La Cruz. Dig deep and help i-Gemini raise much needed funds for their top surgery with this stellar lineup of drag and burlesque talent.

Salonniere: The Drag King Edition at The Apple Tree

Thursday 7th, from 7pm

All kings, all night long, reigning supreme as they should be. There’ll be performances from King Frankie Sinatra, Kallum Kiraly, Jamie Fuxx, Mal Content, TrucK and Sigi Moonlight. Expect live music, comedy and radical performance art at this new queer-friendly variety night.

Easter Sunday Social with The D.E Experience and Lola Lasagne at Royal Vauxhall Tavern

Sunday 17th, from 4pm

An Easter double bill of world-class cabaret and an epic afterparty to finish you off! This will be messy (but that’s what long weekends are for hey) and a hell of a lot of fun with hysterical drag divas The D.E Experience and Lola Lasagne, plus top DJs David Robson and Mike Menace playing the best pop tunes. Goes till 2am! It doesn’t get much better than this.

Belski and Guests: Lesbian Cabaret Show at Two Brewers

Thursday 21st, from 7pm

Led by performance artist and stand-up comedian Belski, this is a variety night curated by lesbians, for lesbians and their allies. With comedy from Alice Frick, music from Sherika Sherard, and cabaret, sketches and spoken word from Belski.

Caba-Cray! With Crayola the Queen at The Glory

Friday 29th, from 7pm

Crayola the Queen is back with another edition of their revue show, brimming with live singing, comedy, art, and special guests! You can expect Crayola’s trademark ingenuous parodies, and a whole host of good-natured queer fun.
