The launch of the queer day-fest was an unqualified success last year and it’s heading back to Ealing this July with another line-up chocka with DJs and drag queens.
Some things take a little time to gain popularity. The career of Jessie Ware, for instance. The HBO sitcom Hacks. The London borough of Clapton.
By total contrast, As One stormed out of the gates last year and was a huge success instantaneously. Who knew Londoners would go so crazy for the opportunity to drink, dance and laugh in the sunshine?

And if anything, the second year will be even better. The line-up is just as impressive for starters — headliners Fat Tony, Melvo Baptiste and ABSOLUTE will have you dancing until your Birkenstocks are worn down to the sole, while there are performances from the likes of La Voix, Danny Beard and Tayce to break things up a bit.
We should also mention the fact that ticket prices are a steal, too. Have a guess at how much you’d expect a London day festival ticket to cost at the height of summer. Now set your faces to shocked when we say you can get in for just over £20. It could have been as low as 11 quid if you’d been organised enough to get early bird tickets, but that ship has sailed. Still, £20. Not bad, right?
And all in the glorious environs of Ealing, well-served as it is by two nearby tube stations that make it refreshingly simple to get there and back — or onto the official afterparty at Fire once it’s all over.
No wonder people are racing back to do it all over again!
