The US of A will always hold a certain glamour to this small island, New Yorkers Chris Hawke and Marc James (originally a Brit) announced at the end of last year that they’d be bringing their wildly successful stateside event GBU Party over to London, lots of people were naturally curious. And those who’ve attended one of these monthly parties will know that they’re just as depraved and debauched as we were promised.

Hey Marc & Chris, what’s GBU Party for those who’ve never been?
MM & CH – GBU is a super sexy, ultra-exclusive, sex party by invite only. We pack warehouses all over the US full of the hottest guys ready to sweat it out together. With massive monthly parties in NYC, LA, Miami and San Francisco — London was the obvious next choice of location for us. The music at GBU is deep and filthy and the vibe is too – we really understand the assignment!! If you haven’t been yet…come find out!
How have the London events been so far? Has anything surprised you?
MM & CH -The London events have been our hottest events yet and we aren’t just saying that! We are honestly surprised by how much the London boys love this party. We get constant messages thanking us for creating a safe space for our community — reinforcing sex positivity amongst younger gay men and creating a connective experience that is more than a circuit party with a back room. We love what we do and are passionate about creating this experience – so we are always thrilled to hear that even the discerning London boys are loving our efforts.
You’ve moved locations, right? What prompted that?
MM & CH – We grew out of our original space sooner than we anticipated so we decided to make a change. We also wanted to be more in the heart of London. When the opportunity to continue our events at Union presented itself we jumped at it and we are very happy we did. Union is a great space for what we do and we of course install our signature full production values. It is Union yes, but as you’ve never seen it before.
Have you got any more plans for the upcoming months?
MM & CH -We are launching in San Francisco in August which we are super excited about! After that, who knows! We have our sights set on a few other European cities which have been brought to our attention by Europeans who come to our US parties. We are constantly asked by our guests to bring GBU to their city so our list of possible locations is really quite endless. In the UK alone; Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh have all been up for discussion since launching in London. So watch this space.
