For many Gay Londoners, FitLadz wasn’t just another club night. It was a fixture of the capital’s nightlife scene, bringing together sportswear enthusiasts, dancefloor devotees, and plenty of cheeky fun under one roof.
Now, after a lengthy hiatus, the brand is making its return at MA1 Bunker. Under the stewardship of promoter and DJ Little Rob, the relaunch combines the much-loved FitLadz identity with the newer FitDadz concept, creating a space that celebrates both the original crowd and a new generation discovering the brand for the first time.
With scene legend Alessandro Londra headlining, rising talent Rhys Richards joining the lineup, and Little Rob himself taking to the decks, it promises a night of nostalgia, energy, and unapologetic sportswear culture.
We caught up with Little Rob to talk about bringing FitLadz back, the evolution of London’s LGBTQ+ nightlife, and why now feels like the perfect time for a new chapter.
FitLadz was a huge name on the London scene for many years. What made now feel like the right time to bring it back?
FitLadz has always held a special place in my heart. I grew up with the brand from when I first started clubbing at 18, and it was one of the events that really shaped my experiences on the London scene. Over the years, so many people have spoken fondly about the nights and the atmosphere, and it felt like the right time to bring some of that magic back while introducing it to a new generation.

After such a long hiatus, was there a particular moment or conversation that sparked the decision to relaunch the brand?
It wasn’t one single moment. It was more the number of conversations I’d had with people who remembered FitLadz and how often the name would come up. There was a real sense that people missed what it offered. Speaking with Steve Darragh who has passed the night on to me as new promoter and looking at how the scene has changed, it felt like the perfect opportunity to bring the brand back in a fresh way.
A lot has changed in London’s LGBTQ+ nightlife since FitLadz first launched. How do you think the scene has evolved, and where do you see FitLadz fitting into it today?
The scene has changed massively. Some iconic venues have closed, people’s clubbing habits have evolved, and social media has changed how people connect. Despite that, people still want spaces where they can meet like-minded people, enjoy great music and feel part of a community. I think FitLadz still has a place because it has a strong identity and brings together people who love sportswear, good music and a welcoming atmosphere.
For those who never experienced the original FitLadz, what was it about the event that made it such a success?
FitLadz never tried to be something it wasn’t. It was fun, friendly, sexy and didn’t take itself too seriously. It brought together people from all walks of life who shared a love of sportswear and clubbing. There was a real sense of community and people felt comfortable being themselves.
The relaunch is being presented alongside FitDadz. What made this evolution feel like a good fit?
When I thought about FitLadz, I always associated it with younger guys in sportswear. But many of us who loved those events twenty years ago are still here and still love sportswear. FitDadz was born from wanting to include and celebrate those more mature guys as well. It’s a natural evolution of the brand and, let’s face it, everyone loves a daddy! 😜
What can people expect from the atmosphere at MA1? Is this a nostalgia trip for the original crowd, or something designed for a new generation as well?
Definitely both. There will be plenty of nostalgia for people who remember the original events, but this isn’t just about looking backwards. We want to create new memories too. Whether you’re a long-time supporter of the brand or discovering FitLadz for the first time, you’ll find a friendly atmosphere, fantastic music and a crowd that knows how to have fun.
The branding and visuals have always been a big part of the FitLadz identity. How important was it to retain that recognisable look while updating it for 2026?
The logo for me has always been the strongest point of the night and the most recognisable so I’m keeping that alive also introducing some slightly different variations in order to include our new addition fitdadz. The artwork will still feel like the original, but with my own modern twist.
You’ve confirmed Alessandro Londra for the relaunch. What made him the right DJ to help usher FitLadz back onto the London scene?
Alessandro was the obvious choice. He’s a true legend of the scene and has played for some of the biggest club brands around, including Hard On, Revolver, Rapido, Trade and many more. He understands exactly what makes a dancefloor work and has the experience and energy to make this relaunch feel like a special occasion.
We’re also excited to introduce DJ Rhys Richards, who is only just beginning his DJ journey but is already showing incredible promise. He’s definitely a talent to watch. Alongside Alessandro and Rhys, I’ll be playing a Vauxhall Classics set as LITTLE ROB. I’ve been DJing on the London scene and beyond for over 20 years, have won multiple awards and have played venues including Egg, Heaven, Fire and Rupert Street. Between us, we’ve got the perfect mix of experience, fresh talent and passion.
Many LGBTQ+ venues and events have faced challenges in recent years. How important is it for promoters to continue creating dedicated spaces for the community?
It’s incredibly important. Dedicated LGBTQ+ spaces have always been about more than just clubbing. They’re places where people can express themselves, make friends and feel accepted. As the landscape changes, promoters have an important role in keeping those spaces alive and ensuring people still have somewhere they can be themselves.
The original FitLadz built a loyal following. Have you been surprised by the reaction from people who remember the event’s first run?
Absolutely. The amount of love people still have for the brand has been amazing to see. So many people have shared stories and memories from the original events, and it’s reminded me just how important those nights were to a lot of people.
Was there anything about the original FitLadz that you knew absolutely had to be part of the relaunch?
Without a doubt, the sense of fun. FitLadz was never afraid to be cheeky and entertaining, and that’s something we wanted to keep. We’re even bringing back the amateur strip contest, which was one of the most talked-about parts of the original events and always got the crowd involved.
If the relaunch proves successful, could this be the start of a longer-term return for the brand?
That’s certainly the hope. Right now, we’re focused on making the relaunch the best event possible, but if people support it and enjoy it, there’s no reason why FitLadz and FitDadz can’t continue to grow and become regular fixtures on the scene again.
Finally, what would you say to someone who’s curious about FitLadz but has never been before?
Come with an open mind and be ready to have fun. Whether you’re into sportswear, great music, meeting new people or simply want to experience a piece of London’s clubbing history, you’ll be made to feel welcome. FitLadz has always been about bringing people together, and that’s exactly what we’re planning to do once again.
Fitladz / Fitdadz returns every Sunday from the 21st of June. 6pm onwards.
