The first-ever Don’t Tell Mama is less than four months away and to whet your appetite for queer hedonism, we’ve caught up with one of the BEEFMINCE lot, Chris Brogan, who’ll be bringing the party’s super-hot vibe down to Bognor.
Hey Chris, we hear you’re heading to Don’t Tell Mama this January…
Yes, I am! The BEEFMINCE boys have invited me to be part of the DJ line-up, together with my music-sister, Silverhook. Just to make it clear – even if we don’t tell Mama, we will be telling ALL the daddies!
Tell us what we can expect from your set.
It’s my birthday weekend, so Silverhook and I are planning a special back-to-back DJ set, all night long. My sets are usually a mix of dirty beats, big basslines, and uplifting vocals, mixing house, disco, and 80s-influenced electronic tracks.
Are there any other acts you’re keen to catch while you’re in Bognor?
I’m very much looking forward to Louise. Let’s Go Round Again is a classic and I might even dig out a special edit of it. Also, Tia Kofi, who is the Queen of Clapham — we have worked at the Two Brewers together for many years.
You’ve performed at BEEFMINCE quite a bit in the past, what do you love about the party?
The people who run it. First of all, we are very good friends (we just got back from a holiday in Malta together). Secondly, the vibe — the music is totally aligned with what I love to play. And, of course, the partygoers, who are a hot, up-for-it crowd with no attitude. BEEFMINCE is always a welcoming, friendly and safe space.
What are you up to between now and the end of January?
Silverhook and I are working on a track together and we hope to have it released this side of Christmas. You can catch me playing at The Two Brewers and around Soho.
