Some venues you plan a night around. Others you already know, and just need an excuse to go back. This is very much the second one.
If you’ve been before, you’ll remember it as Joia, that gorgeous spot perched above Battersea Power Station with those ridiculous views and a bar that always felt just a bit too good for a casual drink. The restaurant’s still called Joia, but the bar has had a glow-up and a new name. Now it’s Pérola, and yes, it’s just as good, if not better.
We’re talking floor-to-ceiling, double, maybe triple-height windows, the kind of skyline backdrop that makes everyone look great, and a space that already feels like a night out before anything’s even started.
On Thursday, 9 April, JAKE are taking it over.
Expect a proper mix, cocktails that keep coming, a DJ that knows how to build the room, and a crowd that’s actually up for chatting, not just posing in the corner. It’s one of those nights where you can turn up on your own and end up knowing half the room by the end of it. They’re very good at that.
That’s always been the JAKE thing. They pick venues you don’t usually get to party in, then fill them with exactly the right people. Pérola, 14 floors up with Battersea laid out beneath you, fits that brief perfectly.
Start the evening with a drink and a view, stay for the energy once the music kicks in, and don’t expect to leave early.
