Fancy a free Queer & LGBTQ+ History Tour of London?

It’s easy to take the capital for granted and barely glance at the city as it flashes by through the taxi window, but we’re all missing out on a lot of hidden history each and every day. The tour company London with a Local has a route that will shed some light on the city’s queer history throughout the centuries, from the excesses of the Romans and scandalous molly houses to the origins of Gay Pride as we know it today.

The two-hour tour starts at 11 a.m. on Charing Cross and eventually finishes at Soho Square, and is taking place across Saturdays in September. The next ones are Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th of September.

It’s free to book, but it operates on a pay-what-you-think basis so bring some cash or a card to show a bit of appreciation to your guide. It’s a perfect option for when an out-of-towner comes to visit you in the big smoke and asks to be shown the sights. To book your place, head to londonwithalocal.com.
